400 Tested For Hepatitis C in Exeter Hospital Outbreak
Exeter Hospital officials have announced that approximately 400 people who may have been exposed to the hepatitis C virus originating from the hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab have been tested. It takes up to ten days for the results of the tests. That leaves approximately 250 people who have yet to be tested for the chronic virus. When news broke that four people had contracted the virus, health officials estimated that up to 650 people may have been exposed to the virus. The investigation concerning the cause and sources of the viral outbreak are ongoing.
