Doctor Sued in Liposuction Surgery Death
In February of this year, April Jenkins had liposuction surgery at the Opulence Aesthetic Medicine, a cosmetic surgery and medical spa based in Kennesaw GA, which serves 45 states and 10 countries. Jenkins didn’t survive the surgery and her father has sued the surgical center and the surgeon, Nedra Dodds, MD. The lawsuit alleges that April Jenkins was anesthetized with a rag soaked with propofol and stuffed in her mouth. The medical malpractice claim also alleges that her liver was pierced during the liposuction procedure. This was not the first time a liposuction patient died at the Opulence Aesthetic Medicine facility. Another patient died in June after liposuction surgery.
