New Hampshire Hospital Safety
According to the Leapfrog Group’s survey of New Hampshire hospitals, only four have been given an “A” grade in terms of how effective they are at preventing medical errors and avoiding patient harm. According to this one survey, New Hampshire hospitals rank 22nd in the nation for the percentage of hospitals that received an A. Maine was first in the nation with 80% of their hospitals ranked with an A. No one survey provides all the information necessary to determine the overall quality of a hospital. However, such surveys may be helpful in determining certain important factors concerning the quality or safety of care at a given institution. Hospital safety reporting and transparency are integral to the improvement of hospital safety and patient care.
